Shipboard Systems Protection
Socitec Wire Rope and Elastomeric isolators optimize survivability of mission critical shipboard systems while reducing vibrations to improve the onboard environment.
Shocks from underwater and air explosions are effectively attenuated to meet the toughest military standards such as MIL-DTL-901.
The Socitec Group SYMOS software package offers full, validated models of all shock testing machines (LWSM, MWSM, FSP, and DSSM). These models are verified and calibrated with data from physical testing.
Our wide range of Elastomeric and Wire Rope mounts effectively prevent transmission of vibration from engines, pumps and other equipment into the vessel structure, reducing noise and vibration.
Shock and Vibration Isolation for Zodiac Liferaft System
Mission critical liferaft evacuation systems on Naval vessels need shock and vibration isolation to maximize survivability. Socitec provided an engineered solution using wire rope isolators to protect this life-saving equipment from underwater and airborne explosions.
Socitec Group engineers used SYMOS to simulate MIL-DTL-901D tests and select Wire Rope Isolators to significantly reduce loads to the Zodiac Liferaft System. Testing validated the simulations and demonstrated the system can withstand underwater explosion forces.
